MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the Clear Lake Shores Pool and Parks Committee shall be as follows:

With regard to the Municipal Swimming Pool:   to make recommendations to the City Administrator regarding any desirable or needed maintenance or improvements to the facilities:

To annually review and make recommendations to the City Council through the City Administrator regarding the operating contract for the pool;

To annually review and make recommendations to the City Administrator regarding any changes, or clarifications to the rules and regulations at the Municipal Pool;

To annually make recommendations regarding the fees and charges for use of the Municipal Pool to the City Administrator prior to the annual budget process.

With regard to the City Parks: The Committee shall report to the City Administrator any desirable or needed maintenance or improvements at the various Municipal Parks, which includes Jarboe Park, Deep Hole Park, Grove Street Children’s Park, Shell Bottom Park, Sundial Park (Lowell Brown Park) and Triangle Park (Jeannie Williams Park).

The planning and coordination of the annual Christmas decorations for outdoor areas of the City; and

Assisting the City Administrator in planning a budget for the operation and maintenance of the Municipal Pool and Parks.

The committee shall consist of five or seven members. The committee chair, vice-chair and secretary shall be selected by the members of the committee.

The committee shall meet monthly unless it is determined by the committee chair in consultation with the City Administrator that no business needs to be addressed. Upon such determination, the chair shall notify the members of the committee that no meeting shall be held.


RESPONSIBLITIES

The Pool & Parks Committee is responsible for ensuring that the city's pool serves the needs of its residents and is maintained and operated in an efficient, cost-effective manner. Also the committee is to ensure that the city's park system serves the needs of its residents and are well-maintained and operated in an efficient, cost-effective manner.

The board identifies specific goals and objectives annually, providing input into ongoing capital improvement projects and community needs as they relate to the function of the committee.
