April 27: CLS resident tests positive for COVID-19
The City of Clear Lake Shores was notified today by the Galveston County Health District that a Clear Lake Shores resident has tested positive for COVID-19. This makes the city’s second positive case of COVID-19.
For confidentiality purposes, the Galveston County Health District is not releasing any additional identifying information, such as sex, age, mode of transmission or travel details.
Galveston County Health District today reports 7 new positive COVID-19 cases in Galveston County residents. This brings the county’s case total to 548. There are 24 additional recoveries, bringing that total to 287.
Today, the health district tested a total of 209 people (87 in League City and 122 in Texas City) through its free COVID-19 drive-thru testing sites. To date, 3,358 tests have been performed with 56 positive and 3,008 negative results reported back to the health district. All other results are currently pending. Galveston County Health District is offering free COVID-19 testing to anyone, regardless of symptoms.

Texas City: Monday-Friday (April 27-May 1)
Galveston County Health District, 9850 Emmett F. Lowry Expressway, Texas City

League City: Monday-Wednesday (April 27-29)

Galveston: Thursday and Friday (April 30-May 1)
Fire Station No. 5, 5728 Ball St., Galveston
To make an appointment in Galveston, please call 409.978.4080 between 1:30-5 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The appointment phone lines will be closed on Thursday.
Those being tested should bring a form of identification including driver’s license, a bill with their name, etc. Only those who have an appointment will be tested.
