This week, Galveston County and Galveston County Water Control and Improvement District 12 began the Lazy Bend bridge reconstruction project on W 6th St., between Harbor Lane and Lazy Lane in Lazy Bend. The project will replace and improve the vehicular and utility bridge and should be completed by April 2021.

Additional information:

  • Signage will be in place directing vehicular traffic to detour around the project.
  • Expect traffic delays on Birch Rd. and Clear Lake Rd.
  • There is no official golf cart route or detour identified.
  • CCISD is evaluating any changes to its transportation plan.
