Hurricane Marco is now less of a concern for CLS based on the latest projections. Forecasters expect Marco to make landfall in Louisiana tomorrow afternoon as a Cat 1 hurricane.
Tropical Storm Laura is of more concern to CLS with the latest projections. National Weather Service forecasters will be more confident in the projected track after the storm crosses Cuba late Monday. Based on the current information, the track will take it straight towards Galveston until it makes a slight right turn to the east of us.
This potential direct-hit track could cause some folks a lot of anxiety until it turns mid-day or late afternoon on Tuesday. Current projection has it making landfall on Wednesday night as possibly a Cat 2 hurricane, somewhere near the Texas/Louisiana border. Forecasters will know more after the storm crosses Cuba and enters the Gulf.
