Clear Lake Shores, TX - Wednesday, September 9, 2020 - The Clear Lake Shores Economic Development Corporation approved the expenditure of $2,365 to support the acquisition of 43 hotspots for Stewart Elementary students who do not have access to internet services.
This donation was made to Clear Creek ISD through their Access for All initiative. This program supports the District’s efforts to provide WiFi access points to families facing hardship so that students are not cut off from their learning and academic progress.
Through family surveys and follow-up outreach, the District identified 43 families from Stewart Elementary unable to gain a reliable internet or WiFi connection at home. “We want to ensure that the students at Stewart Elementary, many of who call Clear Lake Shores home, have the necessary tools to keep learning from home during the COVID-19 pandemic,” EDC Member Amanda Fenwick said. “We are proud to be part of a community that supports each other during times of crisis and uncertainty, and are honored to support Clear Creek ISD during this time of need.”
