If you visited Jarboe Park this weekend, you probably noticed some activity going on at the kayak dock.
CLS resident Brandon Dunegan took the lead on rebuilding the CLS kayak dock as part of his Eagle Scout project.
The City supplied the new dock system, and Brandon and other Scouts from Boy Scouts of America Troop 603 provided the manual labor. “I had been looking for an Eagle project for a while and knew I wanted to help out a community close to home,” said CLS resident, Brandon Dunegan. “I saw lots of chatter about the kayak dock needing renovation and I decided to look into it. I have been around water and kayaks all my life so it worked out pretty well.”
The dock will remain closed to the public until the scouts finish all of the repairs. The City appreciates the hard work and commitment that Brandon is dedicating to make our island a better place for everyone.
