Clear Lake Shores, TX - Wednesday, February 17, 2021 - The City of Clear Lake Shores has been without electric service since 10:00 p.m. last night due to the controlled rotating outages throughout the greater Houston region.

Additionally, Galveston County WCID#12 has informed City officials that they were also affected by the power outage and residents may experience no water pressure until electric service resumes back to normal.

Centerpoint has informed on its latest statement that they will be ready to restore power once it is made available by third-party power generators and received through ERCOT. Customers need to be prepared to be without power, potentially for the duration of the generation shortage event, which could last several more days. While WCID#12 has not issued a boil water notice, City officials recommend residents boil water out of an abundance of caution.

The City will continue to provide weather updates, additional road closures, and other changes to city services through our website and social media outlets.
