Clear Lake Shores, TX – Tuesday, March 2, 2021 - The City of Clear Lake Shores received today the test results regarding the green material found in the ditches following last week’s structure fire on Oak Rd.
The testing results indicate that this substance is not antifreeze or any other toxic material. Based on this testing and field observations, the green material appears to be a dye used for tracing water runoff or a product used to locate individuals in water-based rescues.
The City initiated testing on Thursday, February 25th, after taking precautions to slow the flow to Clear Lake. The United States Coast Guard had the material removed from the ditches as it had migrated to receiving waters.
