The CLS Shoreline Cleanup Day, hosted by the CLS Civic Club and the CLS Yacht Club, will be on Saturday, March 20th, at Jarboe Park. The event will begin at 9:00 a.m. and volunteers will be there providing bags and disposable gloves. This is a great opportunity to meet our neighbors and keep our shorelines healthy and free of litter.
A dumpster will be available exclusively for the Shoreline Cleanup participants from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Jarboe Park. After 3:00 p.m., residents can use the dumpster to dispose of other unwanted items. Please, do not dispose of household trash. To learn more about this event, please contact Doris Sanders at 281-728-5664.
CLS Cleanup Weekend!
The CLS Cleanup Weekend and the CLS Island Wide Garage Sale will be held in May 2021, date TBD. This is a great opportunity to do your spring cleaning, sell things that you don’t need, and dispose of non-hazardous items!
The City will provide two dumpsters that will be located at Shell Bottom Park and Jarboe Park. Among the items accepted are furniture, mattresses, box springs, and other large items. Please, do not dispose of construction debris, yard waste, tires, paint, solvents, hazardous chemicals, electronics, appliances, auto batteries, large auto parts, boat parts, propane tanks, and motor oil.
Trash does not need to be bagged, but light items should be weighed down with something heavier to prevent it from blowing out.
To learn more about the CLS Island Wide Garage Sale, please contact the CLS Civic Club.
For more information on what types of non-hazardous items you can dispose of, please contact the Public Works Department at (281) 334-2799.
