Clear Lake Shores, TX - Wednesday, March 31, 2021 - The CLS kayak launch dock is now open to the public after undergoing repairs and renovations. The City of Clear Lake Shores wants to thank CLS resident Brandon Dunegan, the Boy Scouts of America Troop 603, and other volunteers who took the lead on rebuilding the CLS kayak dock as part of Brandon’s Eagle Scout project.
Thanks to our volunteers, the launch dock has a new plastic floating system that allows kayakers to access their watercraft easily. It also has a new safety swim ladder and a refurbished ramp that moves freely with high and low tides.
“I had been looking for an Eagle project for a while and knew I wanted to help out a community close to home,” said CLS resident, Brandon Dunegan. “I saw lots of chatter about the kayak dock needing renovation and I decided to look into it. I have been around water and kayaks all my life so it worked out pretty well.”
The City appreciates the hard work and commitment that Brandon and all the volunteers dedicated to make our island a better place for everyone.
