The City of Clear Lake Shores and the Clear Lake Shores Police Department have received recent comments from concerned residents regarding unleashed dogs around the city.
We want to make sure that our neighbors and furry friends stay safe while enjoying outdoor activities. The Clear Lake Shores Police Department wants to remind our residents of the city’s rules and regulations concerning leashed pets and cleaning pet litter.
Keep your dog on a leash
Did you know that unleashed dogs are a city ordinance violation? The City of Clear Lake Shores prohibits dogs from being unleashed or at large within the city limits. All dogs must be controlled on a leash at all times whenever the dog is on public property such as city parks, boat ramp, streets, and sidewalks. Clean up after your pet
It is important to remember to immediately clean up after your pet. Take along a bag with you to pick up waste with and then dispose of it properly. The City provides pet waste bags at various parks for residents and visitors to use. This simple step will help keep our community beautiful!
Rabies vaccination and identification tag are required
All dogs and cats must be vaccinated against rabies and must have a proper identification tag. CLS residents can microchip and register their pets at the Animal Bayou Services in Dickinson, TX. Please visit their website at www.bayouanimalservices.org to learn more.
If you want to report a loose dog, please contact the Clear Lake Shores Police Department at (281) 334 -1034.
Knowing our community’s animal related ordinances will help make our city a better place for everyone.
