UPDATE Monday, August 16, 2021 - Odor Incident in Deer Park

Harris County Pollution Control is still monitoring the odor nuisance reported at Lubrizol Plant, in Deer Park.  At this time, detections are minimal. You can view  monitoring data at

While the smell may irritate your throat and eyes, no actionable health threat levels have been detected by Harris County Pollution Control air monitors. 

You can also register to the East Harris County Manufacturers Association Community Awareness Response (CAER) notification app by visiting

CAER Online is a resource that provides information to the community about industrial incidents and planned events.  Messages offer basic information such as what the incident or event is, where it happened, and whether any action is required by community members.

The Kemah Fire Department will continue to monitor the situation throughout the day.
