The City of Clear Lake Shores is under a tropical storm watch. As a reminder, a flash flood watch will be in effect in our area beginning tonight, September 12th at 7:00 p.m. through 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 14th.

The City’s Emergency Operations Center has been activated and continues to monitor the system with the National Weather Service.

WHAT RESIDENTS CAN DO TO PREPARE FOR HEAVY RAINS

Residents can make sure that their homes are prepared for heavy rainfall by doing the following:

  • Be sure to remove your items/belongings off the ground level by either raising them up or moving them to higher ground.
  • Secure any other loose items that could easily be moved by high winds.
  • Make sure drains and gutters are clean around property.

Turn around, don’t drown!

Remember, never drive on flooded roads, if you encounter flood waters on a roadway turn around, don’t drown! For updates on road conditions, please visit http://traffic.houstontranstar.org/ or www.drivetexas.org
