On Tuesday, September 21, 2021, City Council approved an EDC emergency flood recovery program in response to the damages resulting from Hurricane Nicholas to the Town Center businesses.
The Hurricane Nicholas Emergency Town Center Flood Recovery Program (the “Program”) is a joint relief program of the Clear Lake Shores Economic Development Corporation and the City of Clear Lake Shores to provide flood relief from damages caused by Hurricane Nicholas.
The Program will provide expenditures to qualified applicants whose retail business is located within the designated Town Center of Clear Lake Shores. Qualified applicants will be eligible for grants in the amount of $5,000.00.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate realized flood damage in excess of $5,000.00 to their physical or personal business property caused by the rising waters during Hurricane Nicholas. They must be able to provide a detailed summary of its anticipated uses for the funds and must have a physical business inside the defined Town Center commercial district of Clear Lake Shores.
All applications must be submitted no later than 5:00 p.m. Wednesday September 22nd, 2021.
Businesses can submit the application with supporting documentation to City Administrator by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or they can drop off the application with supporting documentation at City Hall, 1006 South Shore Drive Clear Lake Shores, TX 77565.

Grants will be awarded and funded by Friday, September 24th, 2021. The City or EDC may apply other rules and restrictions to an application in order to conform to State law.
