Clear Lake Shores, TX - Wednesday, March 11, 2020 - Are you interested in an up-close and front-row seat to the operations and logistics of what CLS PD does and how they do it?
The Clear Lake Shores Police Department is currently preparing an eight-week program to host their first Citizens Police Academy. The range of topics will be varied and will detail the operational, administrative, and investigative aspects of the agency.
The Citizens Police Academy opens communication between the residents and the police department. The academy also allows the citizens, visitors and business owners to understand the role of the police in their community.
The Citizens Police Academy will tentatively kick off this summer. Each week, the police department will discuss subjects such as Patrol Operations, Investigations, Use of Force, Firearms, Less Lethal Options, Court Operations, jail tours, ride along, and more.
The Citizens Police Academy is open to anyone age 18 and over. Participants must either live or work in Clear Lake Shores. To qualify, applicants will be required to complete a background check.
“Our goal for the academy is to provide better lines of communication through education,” Chief Tracy Keele said. “We want our residents to see how we do things and why we do them. Most importantly, we want to understand the concerns of our residents to serve them better.”
If you are interested in participating or if you want to have more information about the academy please email Chief Keele at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Come and experience this fun way to better understand how the Clear Lake Shores Police Department serves our residents, visitors, and business owners.
